Trip Description

Is storytelling both a deep “healer” and an immediate “feel-good potion?”  I think so . . . and we can debate that during the weekend!  This excursion features the wonderful stories that flow from the festival itself, and the lovely surrounding region: Jonesborough – Tennessee’s oldest town; the golden western slope of the high Appalachians; the Nolichucky River Valley; and a fantastic historic hotel.

We’ll spend two nights in the General Morgan Inn in Greeneville, TN.  We’ll get into storytelling mode with a “Stroll with the President”:  a local guide will lead a walking tour through President Andrew Johnson’s Greeneville.  We will drive to nearby Jonesborough on Saturday and Sunday to enjoy the International Storytelling Festival: continuous storytelling throughout the day; fine local museums and boutiques; and Jonesborough’s pretty National Historic Register downtown.
