Trip Description

Early December . . . time for EUC’s annual Christmas trip!  Please join us for a fun and festive excursion to Madison, Georgia!   Our holiday trip is timed to grant us an invited look inside those lovely homes that Madison is known for:  It’s the annual Christmas Tour of Homes!  We’ll enjoy a backroads drive through the Georgia Piedmont to Madison, taking in off-the-radar stunners like the Watson Mill Covered Bridge, the time-lost town of Lexington, and the original site of Mercer College.  Our home in the Madison area will be The Farmhouse Inn, featuring an idyllic countryside setting, that will be the perfect base for relaxing and getting into the holiday cheer.  Our very own chef will cook dinner for us “on the farm,” enhancing our sense of ease and contentment at the end of each day.  We’ll join in the fun of the Tour of Homes in Madison on Friday (also on Saturday morning), mixing leisurely house tours with time on the lovely courthouse square, in quaint eateries, and admiring the beautiful 1895 Normal School (headquarters for the Tour of Homes) which also houses a community museum.  Around midday on  Saturday, we’ll depart Madison for the charms of small town and rural Georgia – uncovering treasures along our route back into South Carolina.
