Trip Description
This lovely 3-day trip takes place not too far from home . . . and that’s a great thing! We’ll have more time to explore and uncover hidden gems in the old “Deutsch Fork” – and still plenty of lovely backroads drives. We’ll make our home for two nights in downtown Newberry – the town that the revitalized Newberry Opera House built. Lovely architecture abounds in Newberry . . . and also in Winnsboro (Fairfield County), and in many of the small or crossroad communities that dot the region. Lucky for us that we’ll have a local authority in tow, who served as the state’s leading preservationist for years. Lovely drives with stops; visits to private sites with unusual stories and architectural features; and a favorite restaurant that’s a stone’s throw from the hotel . . . Score!
