The Tennessee Presidential Tour
November 11 – 15, 2019
Chartered Coach Comfort – In Search of (In-)Famous Tennesseans
Last year’s Virginia Presidential Tour proved to be such a smash hit that we’re taking this show on the road again . . . to uncover the lives and stories of Tennessee’s (or is that North Carolina’s?) native sons who became Commanders-in-Chief. Expect fantastic stories, guided touring on location at three presidential homes, and plenty of backroads fun. We’ll learn about Presidents and other regional stories with national implications in East and Middle Tennessee – two of our America’s prettiest regions. Lovely hotels, great dining, and a feel for “this part of the world” are all on tap.
- Guided visits at the Presidential homes of Andrew Johnson, James K. Polk, and Andrew Jackson
- Touring of lovely historic and cultural sites in and around the pretty cities of Greeneville, Carthage, Nashville, and Columbia (all in Tennessee)
- Lovely drives – including part of the Natchez Trace Parkway, and other Middle Tennessee backroads
- High-standard hotels – including the General Morgan Inn (1 night), Greeneville; a Nashville-area hotel (2 nights); and the Sewanee Inn (1 night), Sewanee, TN
Trip price: $1589 / person (double occupancy; single supplement, $350); price does not include alcohol and optional trip insurance.
Chumley’s take: We’re sure to uncover fascinating stories about this famous triumvirate of men and their associates – from fact, to legend, to rumor. All in the Land of Hospitality.
