Let’s adventure to the serene outback of North Carolina’s Down East and southern Outer Banks regions, featuring multi-night stays in old Beaufort and Ocracoke Island. We’ll enjoy a backroads, central Carolina drive en route to the Southern Banks, and a meandering route along the Pamplico Sound after departing Ocracoke. Meet local experts who can show and tell area crafts traditions – duck decoy-carving, boat-building…and lend insights into this unique water-and-marsh corner of North Carolina. Special features will include the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the Ocracoke Interpretive Center, and the charms of “Little Washington,” North Carolina.
