First-Hand Encounters with Stories From The Land
Let’s explore the Blue Ridge Parkway by small group! We’ll uncover some of the Parkway’s best stories, by visiting museums, overlooks, and local experts; and by exploring what lies just out of view (of the untrained eye). We’ll enjoy accommodations at three historic lodges (one night each), good local foods, outstanding bookstores, opportunities for short hikes, and a supreme setting to digest local stories.
• Lodging in the Pisgah Inn, the Switzerland Inn, and the Glendale Springs Inn
• Visits to the Museum of the Cherokee Indian, The Cradle of Forestry, the NC Minerals Museum
• Other sites connected to railroads, the politics of the Parkway, fish and wildlife, the story of the Plott Hound, and the race to calculate the East’s tallest peak
• The fun and intimacy of small group travel
